No +"new tab" Button for Chrome 17
The latest public release of Google Chrome, version 17, features a streamlined "new tab" button. This is only a small change to the already sleek UI. Google have simply removed the "+" label from the button. This has been a feature of Google Chrome Canary (the development version of Chrome) for some time. The images below show the old and new "new tab" buttons.

Those with a keen eye will spot that the old version of Chrome is on Windows 7 and the new version is on Mac OS X.
I miss the + symbol. It doesn't feel right without it. Why remove it? What's the point? It just makes it less obvious what the button does. Less user friendly for beginners.
I would agree with that, some people are still going to be new to Chrome and may not realise what the button does. I think this feature should of remained in the developer version "Chrome Canary"
