Wembley's Pitch to be relaid

Wembley Stadium is famous all over the world for it's football events such as the FA cup final but this week it's infamous for having it's pitch relaid for the sixth time in it's short life. Concerts and other sporting events are blamed, they even laid tarmac over the pitch for a race circuit last December. You can read more in a BBC Article Here.

Porsche Panamera unveiled to the world

Porsche have unveiled their new model, the Panamera, to the world. It's a four seater and has four doors. Prices start from £72,266.00 for a 4.8l V8. On paper it's a good balance between power and weight because the acceleration of the Panamera Turbo is very impressive for a large 4 seater. 0-62mph is achieved in 4.2 seconds with the 4.8l twin-turbo V8. I would love to drive one and review it for webwarp.co.uk but unfortunately I don't think that will happen!
Here's a link from the Porsche site for more information.

Twitter Explored

Twitter: A social networking revolution or a micro-blog of wasted time and effort?

I joined www.twitter.com to find out, and I have been ‘tweeting’ for a few weeks now. I really like the fact that it is mostly public, it encourages conversation with all kinds of people without you having to be facebook friends and giving away all kinds of personal identification that we spend time destroying at the shredder! To this end you can tweet with celebrities (who would not be your facebook friend!) and sometimes they reply to your comments!

I think that if you are friends with someone in the real world it is a lot better to contact them direct than use twitter, but if it’s a throw away thought about hating crowded public transport, would they really want to be bothered directly?

You can follow some really useful usernames with actually convert RSS feeds into twitter updates. These Twitter users are often referred to as Twitter bots.

On Twitter you may often come across hash tags such as #followfriday or #f1 these are used to bring items up in the search as keywords that everyone discussing a topic can use to tag there tweet. A great example of the successful promotion of a website through hash tags is #4am, the 4am project which is a photography project that involves everyone and Twitter added a lot of extra users.

I think that Twitter as earnt it’s place in the internet as a well worth visit, but who knows how long it will last. According the Twitter website about us page they aren’t making any money!

Shell Refueling TV Ad

Do you remember in 1997 when Shell made a TV ad that showed a Ferrari F1 car being refueled from a plane in a desert? Well Shell have released the ad for download on their website. The footage is incredible. Here is a quote from the site:

"Without the benefit of CGI, the footage is as pure and refined as the products Shell supplies, through its technical partnership, to Scuderia Ferrari and the Ferrari GT department."

So Click Here to see the ad for yourself, and there is more information about it too.
