Is it time to Spotify?
Spotify is the music revolution many predicted years ago. A huge online library of tracks and free access to listen to them over the internet. Last.fm and other 'custom internet radio' services led the way but Spotify really brings the concept to life through it’s software based experience. You download Spotify and sign up and within minutes you have access to over 6 million songs. Not bad eh? There are adverts (audio and visual) but for a tenner a month you can be ad free. And now Spotify has released an iPhone app and an Android app for use by premium Spotify users. So your ten pounds a months gets you Spotify on the move. You can even download a playlist to listen on the underground or the train where 3G is signal is unreliable. So is it time to change your listening habits? To give up on owning music altogether? Not for me, yet. I like to have my music and will continue to buy it. But I do enjoy finding new music on Spotify. You can ‘try before you buy’ too which is better than iTunes 30 second previews.
